Student, parent and school responsibilities:
Students need to take an active part in their education and Westland
has developed a school pledge to help them remember their
responsibilities as students. Ask your child about the pledge.
-each high school teacher will be a mentor for a number of high
school students to help each student have more individual attention
and help with choosing classes, preparing for graduation, college,
etc. These "families" will have various activities throughout the year.
Mentor meeting are on the calendar this year.
-elementary teachers will be working hard with your children to help
them gain self-confidence and the skills necessary to learn all they
can by helping them understand the importance of doing their own
work and doing their best. We appreciate the support of parents
who help their children with their work but do not do it for them.
Westland has always been family centered. Parents are always
welcome. Tell us what we're doing right or what we can improve
upon. We're listening!
